Møbler fra TAKT er produceret af FSC-certificeret træ fra skove i Danmark og Letland. Intet restmateriale går til spilde
Designvirksomheden TAKT arbejder målrettet med at reducere spild i dens møbelproduktion
I tråd med designvirksomheden TAKTs tro på at leve bæredygtigt ser de ’zero waste’ som en integreret og vigtig del af deres værdikæde. De arbejder på at reducere spild af tømmer hele vejen fra skoven til værkstedet.
Processen initieres ved kun at bruge FSC® certificeret træ fra bæredygtige skove i produktionen. FSC® certificeringen sikrer omfattende pleje af natur, dyr og mennesker i skove, og certificeringen er en garanti for, at der ikke fældes flere træer, end skoven er i stand til at regenerere sig selv.
Efter at træet er fældet, tørres tømmeret i flere måneder og skæres på savværket i præcise længder, der passer til hvert møbel. Derved minimeres mængden af restmateriale senere på værkstedet.
Rester bliver til briketter
Alle TAKTs møbler er produceret på udvalgte værksteder i Danmark og Letland. Rester fra produktionen i savsmuld, flis og afskåret træ genbruges enten i spånplader eller til lokal opvarmning. Resterende materiale presses ind i briketter og bruges til lokal opvarmning på værkstedet eller til træmaskinerne, hvilket eliminerer behovet for olie og gas – selv under kolde, lettiske vintre.
Tømmerproduktion af TAKT-møbler modtager ingen kemiske behandlinger, så afbrænding af det resterende træ skaber ikke giftige dampe. Hvis der herefter er restmateriale tilbage, doneres det til virksomheder til genbrug. På denne måde får alt restmateriale et nyt formål, og nul går til spilde.
