Knap 300 nordiske arkitekter vægter bæredygtighed frem for pris
Arkitekter i Norden vægter i stigende grad bæredygtighed frem for pris, viser en ny undersøgelse fra Nordic Architect Panel. Dog langt flere finske arkitekter end danske, og det overrasker dansk tegnestue.
Den netop offentliggjorte trendundersøgelse fra Nordic Architect Panel dokumenterer, at bæredygtighed for alvor har taget førerpladsen over pris som det suverænt vigtigste parameter i valget af byggematerialer.
I Finland tilkendegiver hele 93 procent af de adspurgte arkitekter, at bæredygtighed er vigtigere end pris, når de skal vælge byggematerialer, mens det tilsvarende tal for Sverige og Norge er henholdsvis 73 procent og 67 procent. Danmark skiller sig ud, idet alene 46 procent af respondenterne erklærer sig enig i, at bæredygtighed er vigtigere end pris.
Det er et af flere opsigtsvækkende resultater fra Nordic Architect Panel, hvor knap 300 nordiske arkitekter forholder sig til spørgsmål om blandt andet bæredygtighed og andre trends i den nordiske arkitekt- og byggebranche.
Bæredygtighedsfokusset har vundet fodfæste for længst – men konkurrerer stadig med prisen
Der er efterhånden enighed i byggebranchen om, at bæredygtighed er blevet et konkurrenceparameter på lige fod med faktorer som økonomi og arkitektur. Det mærkes også i arkitektbranchen, hvor man ofte operer i spændingsfeltet mellem meninger og ønsker fra både bygherrer, entreprenører og udførende aktører.
Den seneste undersøgelse fra Nordic Architect Panel viser således også, at bæredygtighed udgør en væsentlig del af arkitekternes arbejde. Således svarer hele 67 procent, at bæredygtighed fylder ”rigtig meget” eller ”meget” i deres nuværende arbejde, mens 18 procent henviser til, at det fylder ”en del”.
Hos byggematerialeproducenten Cembrit opererer man selv i føromtalte spændingsfelt, hvor kunder gerne vil prioritere bæredygtighed, men samtidig har pris som et væsentligt parameter, når der vælges byggematerialer:
- Det her er nok et af de mest klassiske opgør i klimakampen. Uanset, om du er arkitekt, entreprenør, bygherre eller slutbruger, så står du ofte over for at skulle veje pris og økonomi op imod klima- og miljøhensyn, som typisk gør byggeriet dyrere. Derfor er det både interessant og opløftende at se, hvordan bæredygtighed nu har fundet vej til pladsen som det vigtigste parameter, når arkitekterne i Norden skal pege på byggematerialer. Det forklarer markedsdirektør Karsten Østergaard Larsen fra Cembrit, der står bag Nordic Architect Panel. Han fortsætter:
- Det er selvfølgelig bemærkelsesværdigt, at der er så store forskelle landene imellem, men når vi kigger på undersøgelsen som helhed, er der ingen tvivl om, at arkitekterne i stigende grad prioriterer bæredygtighed over alt andet. Der er virkelig meget tyngde i den her bevægelse, og det er ikke længere et spørgsmål om retning. Det er udelukkende et spørgsmål om tempo, og her ser de finske arkitekter ud til at være stukket af fra resten af Norden, siger han.
Dansk tegnestue er overrasket: Markedssituationen presser de danske arkitekter
Mens et flertal af undersøgelsens nordiske respondenter altså er enige i, at bæredygtighed vægtes over pris, så ser det anderledes ud blandt de danske paneldeltagere alene. Her er det således under halvdelen af respondenterne, der erklærer sig enige i, at bæredygtighed er vigtigere end pris.
Det vækker undren hos den danske tegnestue Friis & Moltke, der kalder resultaterne for overraskende:
- Det er højst overraskende, at et flertal af de danske respondenter vægter pris over bæredygtighed, og det må skurre slemt i branchens selvforståelse. For vi ser arbejdet med at integrere bæredygtighed som afgørende for vores fremtidige forretning, og satser hårdt på at være blandt de førende på området, lyder det fra associeret partner og arkitekt hos Friis & Moltke, Kim Flensborg.
Han peger på, at den aktuelle markedssituation er med til at presse prisen i vejret, og det kan spænde ben for de grønne ambitioner – særligt i den almene boligsektor:
- Prisspørgsmålet er altid relevant, men lige nu arbejder vi sammen med flere private og offentlige bygherrer, der er parate til at betale mere, hvis det understøtter en bæredygtig omstilling. Hvis man skal pege på skævheder i markedet, der kan forklare de danske arkitekters manglende fokus på området, kan det være rammebeløbet for den almene sektor. Boligforeningernes ambitioner for en bæredygtig omstilling er presset af det nuværende prisniveau på materialer, grunde og håndværkere, hvilket i langt de fleste tilfælde tvinger dem til at vælge bæredygtigheden fra, siger han slutteligt.

Nordic Architect Panel er en ny halvårlig spørgeundersøgelse blandt arkitekter og rådgivere i de fire nordiske lande, Danmark, Finland, Norge og Sverige.

Panelet består af både faste medlemmer og vekslende deltagere og tæller arkitekter og rådgivere på tværs af Norden. Nordic Architect Panel er stiftet af Cembrit i 2021 og er en udvidelse af Dansk Arkitektpanel, som blev startet i 2018. Nordic Architect Panel er et nonkommercielt tiltag varetaget af uvildige konsulenter.
